Our mission is to improve the lives of family violence victims through community collaboration and the provision of comprehensive services in a single location. Very simply, we're a one-stop-shop for domestic violence victims.
Previously, a domestic violence victim would face a logistical nightmare of driving to numerous places and working with various agencies that are not connected. This made holding the batter accountable, as well as the victim accessing needed services, very difficult. Now with FJC, there are nearly 40 agencies under one roof, all working together, for the domestic violence victim and her family.
These various agencies under one roof are public, private and non-profit organizations that have been in operation in Hillsborough County for many years. All of the familiar names that our community has come to trust when it comes to domestic violence are part of FJC: The Spring, The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office, Bay Area Legal Services, The Crisis Center, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and many others. This one-stop-shop approach is based on a model created in San
Diego, California, which has produced substantial results in helping
domestic violence victims. (click here to learn more about the San Diego model)
