The Family Justice Center (FJC) exists to help those affected by domestic violence and their families seek safety. When you enter the FJC, you can expect to be greeted by our friendly office staff in our main lobby.

They will ask you for an ID to complete a safety screening. Don’t worry, if you do not have an ID a counselor will still meet with you. From there, our staff will welcome you to wait in the kitchen and enjoy a cup of coffee while an advocate (counselor) prepares to meet with you.
If you have a child with you, they can play in the playroom while you relax. If a volunteer is available, they will be in the playroom so that your child can stay and play while you speak with an advocate(counselor).
From there, the advocate will walk with you to one of our living rooms, where you can share your story and work with the advocate to get the services you need.
Your advocate can help you with safety planning, food, clothing, signing up for other types of state and local benefits, accessing emergency shelter, making a police report, speaking with a lawyer, and much more.
FJC also provides an Interfaith Chaplaincy Program. Above all else, FJC Chaplains are trained and called to provide spiritual support through providing each FJC Guest who requests it, a Gift of Presence. Our Chaplains are a listening ear or support for spiritual issues and concerns.
